Why Rooted and Rising Matters Now More Than Ever

If you had asked me five years ago if I saw myself leading a women’s event like Rooted and Rising, I might have smiled politely and changed the subject. Not because I didn’t have the desire, but because I wasn’t sure I was qualified. I thought I had to “arrive” before I could speak to purpose. I thought I had to have it all mapped out to lead other women. But God has a way of rewriting our stories in the margins we overlooked.

Rooted and Rising was birthed out of that tension between who I thought I had to be and who God already knew I was becoming. This conference isn’t just another gathering of women. It’s a response to a holy hunger. A deep longing I’ve seen in the hearts of women everywhere: to live a life of meaning, purpose, and faith.

We’re in a season where women are carrying so much—building families, advancing careers, caring for others, and wrestling with spiritual identity all at once. We are rising, yes—but the question is, are we still rooted?

That’s what this space is for. Rooted and Rising is not just a title; it’s a charge. A reminder that we can pursue growth and still stand firm in Christ. That our purpose and profession do not have to compete with our faith—they can be fueled by it.

On Saturday, July 12th, I want you to walk into a room where no one expects perfection—but where everyone expects God to move. You’ll hear stories that make you nod your head, maybe cry a little, and definitely see yourself in a new way. Stories like that of Marlisa Payne, who answered God’s call to law school not with full understanding, but with full faith. Or Angel Duncan, a strategist and ordained elder who carries the Gospel with clarity in global spaces. These women, and many others, are living proof that God calls us to both kingdom and career—not one or the other.

And it’s not just about the stage. It’s about you. The conversations you’ll have. The moments where God whispers, “That’s for you, daughter.” It’s the worship. The laughter. The stillness.

Maybe you’ve been pouring out for everyone else and you’re just tired. Maybe you’ve accomplished much on paper but feel empty inside. Or maybe, you’re in a place of transition and need confirmation that you're on the right path. I believe God wants to meet you at Rooted and Rising.

I believe He wants to remind you:

  • That your calling is still intact.

  • That the seed He planted is still growing.

  • That rising doesn’t mean running—sometimes it means remaining.

So, here’s your invitation:📍 1656 Edgewood Ave W, Jacksonville, FL🗓 Saturday, July 12, 2025🕙 10:00 AM – 12 PM EST

Come as you are, and let’s seek God together. Let’s rise—anchored in Christ and confident in our calling.
