What’s Driving You? Discovering True Motivation Through Faith

When I began my ministry, Claimed By Him, my motives were pure. I wanted to glorify God and help others draw closer to Him. But when life threw financial uncertainty my way, my focus shifted. Suddenly, my prayers became more about how I could sustain myself than who I was serving.

Romans 8:5-6 challenged me to dig deeper: “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” Was my drive coming from the Spirit or my own flesh?
That question revealed hard truths. While I trusted God to provide, I also leaned heavily on my own plans and strategies. I realized I was teetering on the edge of serving two masters—God and financial security. The Holy Spirit reminded me of Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
As I surrendered my motivations to God, He began showing me where I had placed my trust—and where I needed to redirect it. It wasn’t about what I could accomplish but about being faithful to what He called me to do.
This revelation didn’t come without effort. I had to confront my pride and acknowledge how my childhood shaped my independence. I also had to repent for placing my focus on things outside of God’s will. The more I leaned on Him, the more He realigned my heart with His purpose.

If you’re questioning what’s driving you, I encourage you to pick up Quieting The Noise: From My Head to My Heart. Together, we’ll explore how to refocus on God’s eternal plans, leaving behind the distractions of the world. Let’s rediscover what it means to be truly Spirit-led.
