Slow Down, God’s Not Rushing You

I just want to remind you of something as we walk into this new year. You don’t have to rush through life.

We live in a world that constantly pushes us to do more, be more, and achieve more as if our value is measured by our pace. But the truth is, God isn’t asking you to do everything. He’s simply asking you to be faithful with what He’s placed in front of you.

That simple truth has brought me peace more times than I can count. When the noise gets loud and the to-do list feels never-ending, I remind myself that faithfulness doesn’t always look like busy. Sometimes it looks like being still. Sometimes it means saying no to what’s good so I can say yes to what’s God. Sometimes it’s just choosing peace over pressure.

As the noise quiets and the distractions begin to fade, my prayer is that you feel God’s presence more clearly. I pray His peace surrounds you, even in the middle of uncertainty. He’s not pushing you. He’s leading you gently. He’s not in a hurry. He is intentional, patient, and always on time.

You may feel like you should be further along. Maybe things haven’t turned out like you hoped. But I want you to hear this. You are not behind. God knows exactly where you are, and He knows how to guide you forward. He hasn’t forgotten you.

Your time matters. Your presence matters. And those small acts of obedience like loving your family well, praying through the tears, and showing up even when it’s hard, those things matter more than you know. They are seeds of faith that God sees and honors.

When I look back over my life, I see how often God moved in the quiet moments. Not in the chaos. Not in the pressure. But in the pause. Some of the most important breakthroughs didn’t come from striving. They came when I finally slowed down enough to hear Him speak.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:6

That verse continues to steady me. When I take a moment to invite God into the small places, into the decisions and the daily steps, He always responds. He may not show me the whole picture, but He gives just enough light for the moment I’m in.

If you have been feeling pressure to keep up or catch up, I want you to take a deep breath. You do not have to carry that weight. God is not measuring your worth by what you produce. He is after your heart, your trust, and your willingness to walk with Him faithfully and fully.

Let’s slow down this year. Let’s make room to hear Him. Let’s trust that His pace is always perfect.

Be blessed. Have a truly wonderful year.

Lisa
