Come Back: God Never Stopped Being Faithful

Have you ever reached a place where you quietly stopped believing God would come through?

Maybe you never said it out loud.

You still believed in God. You still showed up. You may have even encouraged other people.

But somewhere in your heart, something changed.

You stopped praying like you used to.

You stopped expecting God to move.

You started carrying things on your own.

Sometimes disappointment does that. Sometimes waiting makes us tired. Sometimes the answer we hoped for never comes the way we thought it would.

And little by little, we pull back.

When Faith Gets Tired

Faith does not always disappear all at once.

Sometimes it simply gets tired.

You pray for something for a long time, and nothing seems to change. You ask God for direction, but you still feel unsure. You believe for healing, restoration, or breakthrough, but the outcome looks different from what you expected.

After a while, hoping can start to hurt.

So you protect your heart.

You stop asking.

You stop expecting.

You tell yourself, “I will just handle it.”

But God never asked you to carry everything alone.

Your Feelings May Change, but God Does Not

Here is the truth.

Your faithfulness may have changed.

Your feelings may have changed.

Your trust may have weakened.

But God never stopped being faithful.

Second Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”

Faithfulness is not simply something God does.

Faithfulness is part of who He is.

That means your disappointment does not change His character.

Your questions do not scare Him away.

Your weak moments do not make Him love you less.

Even when you struggle to hold onto Him, He is still holding onto you.

## Peter Failed, but Jesus Still Came for Him

Peter knew what it felt like to fail.

He told Jesus that he would never leave Him. Yet when pressure came, Peter denied knowing Jesus three times.

Imagine the shame Peter must have felt.

He knew what he had promised.

He knew what he had done.

But Jesus did not throw Peter away.

After the resurrection, Jesus met Peter again. In John 21, Jesus spoke directly to him, restored him, and called him forward.

Peter failed, but his failure was not the end of his story.

Jesus still had purpose for him.

Thomas Doubted, but Jesus Still Met Him

Thomas struggled too.

When the other disciples said they had seen the risen Jesus, Thomas had trouble believing them.

Jesus could have rejected him because of his doubt.

Instead, Jesus came to him.

In John 20:27, Jesus invited Thomas to see for himself.

Jesus met Thomas in the middle of his questions.

That matters because sometimes we think we have to fix our faith before we can return to God.

We do not.

We come back so He can strengthen us.

God Keeps Calling Us Back

Throughout Scripture, God’s people wandered again and again.

They doubted.

They complained.

They forgot what He had already done.

They trusted other things.

Still, God kept calling them back.

Why?

Because God’s love is not dependent on perfect faith.

He does not give up on His children simply because they struggle.

He corrects.

He restores.

He reminds.

He calls us back to Himself.

Come Back

Maybe you have been distant.

Come back.

Maybe you have been tired.

Come back.

Maybe disappointment caused you to stop praying.

Come back.

Maybe you do not have the words.

Come back anyway.

You do not need a perfect prayer.

You do not have to pretend you are not hurt.

You do not need strong faith before you approach God.

You can simply say:

“Lord, I am tired. I do not understand this season, but I want to trust You again.”

That is enough to begin.

He Is Still Holding You

There may have been moments when your grip on God became weak.

But His grip on you did not.

The God who carried you before is still carrying you now.

The God who heard you before still hears you now.

The God who restored Peter and met Thomas in his doubt still knows how to meet you in your weak places.

You may feel different.

Your circumstances may be different.

But God is still faithful.

Come back.

He never stopped holding you.

"Lord, I am coming back. Help me trust You again.”
